1999 മുതൽ കേരള നദീ സംരക്ഷണ സമിതിയുടെ ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തിൽ ഒക്ടബോർ 3ന് ആണ് കേരളത്തിൽ നദീദിനം ആചരിക്കുന്നത്. ചാലക്കുടിപ്പുഴയുടെ തീരത്ത് വച്ചാണ് ഈ വർഷത്തെ സംസ്ഥാനതല പരിപാടി. ഈ സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ, കേരളത്തിലെ പുഴകൾ നേരിടുന്ന ഭീഷണികളെക്കുറിച്ചും പുഴ സംരക്ഷണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കേണ്ട പുതിയ വെല്ലുവിളികളെക്കുറിച്ചും സംസാരിക്കുകയാണ് കേരള നദീ സംരക്ഷണ സമിതി പ്രസിഡന്റും പരിസ്ഥിതി പ്രവർത്തകനുമായ എസ്.പി രവി.
